Kutlwano sweeps the board in Mascom League

The two clubs achieved the feat after beating Spartans' sides 3-0 in fierce battles. In the men's competition, the vastly improved Spartans gave Kultwano a tough time in a closely-contested duel. Spartans who were not expected to produce such a star performance gave the 'Big House' a run for their money in a game that could have gone either way. They made their intentions clear from the first whistle but the experience of Kutlwano proved crucial when the going got tough. Spartans lost the first set 26-24 and looked destined to win the second when they led for some time. But they let the lead slip to lose 21-25. Fatigue seemed to have set in when Spartans fell 25-17 in the final set.

In the women's competition, Kutlwano did not produce a top-notch performance in the absence of Lekedzani Bayi. The team lacked motivation that the captain always provides. However, Kutlwano coach Isaac Samuel said he was satisfied with his team's performance. 'All that mattered to us was to win the championship, how we won is not important,' he said. He is happy that his two teams played according to plan.

Samuel said Kutlwano men play a fast game but on Saturday, they decided to lower the tempo to make life difficult for Spartans. He dismissed suggestion that the game could go either way. 'The good team won on the day,' he said.

Spartans' coach, Gaolatlhe Motsamai was happy with the performance of his charges considering that they played good sides. 'It was a balanced game, I am impressed,' he said. Motsamai said their focus at this point is to build a strong side. He intends to produce invincible sides in the next two seasons.
