Maruapula hosts inaugural Mr Botswana contest

Competition organiser, Jimmy Mokiwene said the contest will help take the sport to the people.

Unlike other bodybuilding competitions, Mr Botswana is only open to Batswana.

Mokiwene said building has been growing at a slow pace and they want to popularise the sport so that people can join in large numbers.

He explained that during the Mr Botswana contest, the judges will focus on body proportion.

'They will judge whether the lower part matches the upper body.

The judges will also look at the way competitors move their bodies and if the muscles are properly cut,' he stated.Entrance fee is P120 for adults and P50 for students.  Mokiwene said they intend to make the competition an annul event subject to availability of funds.
