Focus on Sithole as GU face BMC

The Reds are counted among the favourites to clinch the prestigious title even though they have not been consistent.

They face a major test tomorrow against most of the players who Sithole coached last season and re-ignited their confidence in what would have been a disastrous season. BMC nearly found themselves going down to the lower division until Sithole's arrival. The game would also see Zebras' defender, Musa Ohilwe and winger, Thebe Maiketso, face their former team for the first time since their off season switch. Ohilwe and Maiketso, like Sithole, joined GU at the beginning of the season from BMC, following defender Tumisang Sekanonyane who joined GU from BMC in the 2009-2010 season.

A victory would not improve their position on the log standings although it would ensure they maintain third position. Mpho Mabogo who nearly left GU at the start of the season is proving critics wrong under Sithole. He scored both goals last Saturday when GU defeated struggling Motlakase Power Dynamos 2-1 in Selebi-Phikwe. He will face a tough-tackling BMC defence in what could be an interesting battle.

The GU defence will not rest either as Kenanao Kgetholetsile has proved again this season how lethal he can be in front of goals.

Meanwhile, the race for the top position on the log continues this week as both Township Rollers and ECCO City Greens who have been breathing on each others' necks face rookies. Rollers take on Miscellaneous at the UB Stadium while ECCO City Greens lie in wait for Black Peril in Francistown. The game was supposed to be played in Selebi-Phikwe but Miscellaneous who are the hosts are said to have asked the game to be moved to Gaborone for financial reasons. It would be a tough trip down to Gaborone especially when Rollers have hit top form. The Premier League rookies have won only one game and drew four in nine games.

The last time the two sides met was in the Coca-Cola Cup last season in Serowe when Miscellaneous were still playing in the First Division where Rollers came tops.

ECCO City Greens will be looking for victory against Black Peril after a late equaliser saw them grab a point against Mochudi Centre Chiefs in Gaborone last Saturday. A loss or draw would be a setback for Mamoja Diskie who would not want to see Rollers increasing the lead at the top.

Uniao Flamengo Santos and Extension Gunners lock horns in Lobatse. Gunners lost their last game against Police XI after a week in which there were reports of players' unrest due to non-payment of salaries. Notwane will host Motlakase in Molepolole.

On Sunday, TASC and TAFIC clash in the Francistown derby at Francistown Stadium. Still on Sunday, BDF XI and Chiefs lock horns in Molepolole.

All the games kick off at 3.30pm except for Rollers/Miscellaneous game which starts at 7pm.
