BAA takes Commonwealth Games athletes to Mahalapye

BAA spokesperson, Glody Dube said Mahalapye residents will have the opportunity to meet their heroes at the meeting. He said the BAA hopes the initiative will inspire young people to join athletics. The purpose of the OGM is to, among others, discuss the Africa Junior Athletics Championships, which will be held in Gaborone next May.

The executive committee will present audited financial results after the affiliates rejected the report during the Annual General Meeting early this year. During the AGM, it was felt that the report had omissions.

Dube said the report has been properly audited and there are hopes the affiliates will accept it. He said the meeting will be briefed on the general progress of the association. Before the OGM, delegates will be involved in a clean up campaign in the village.

BAA will donate blankets and other household goods to the less privileged through the District Commissioner's office. Dube said their business is not only to run sport but to help the less privileged.
