Magistrate sets date for forgery case

It is alleged that Castro Kemohilwe Molefhe (43) and Stephen Joseph Legodi (42), acting jointly and in concert on a date not known to prosecution, forged a Tawana Land Board Certificate of Customary Land Grant in Maun purporting it to be a certificate issued to Legodi by the Tawana Land board.

Molefhe works as a field assistant in while Legodi works as an accountant.

Allegations are that the accused also on September 2007 uttered a forged land board certificate, purporting it to be an original certificate issued to Legodi by the said land board.

Both accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Meanwhile, a 32-year-old lady appeared before the Francistown Magistrates Court charged with one count of corruption, in respect of official transactions of the corruption and economic crimes directorate.

The accused, Khumoetsile Mooketsi, who works as an immigration assistant in Francistown, corruptly accepted for herself, valuable consideration in the sum of P1,100 from one Sononyane Mogewu.
