Man killed by lightning

Tebogo Dialwa said his son Oreeditse Ndaba was struck to death after 5pm but his two brothers escaped unhurt.

'Ndaba was out with two boys who are his younger siblings. We saw the boys speeding into the yard only to tell us that their elder brother has fallen down after lightning struck,' Dialwa said.

He said they immediately rushed out only to find that Ndaba had died. 'It was then that we went and took a wheelbarrow and carried him home so we can take him to the morgue. We also had to take his two younger brothers to a doctor at Nyangabgwe Hospital where they were treated for shock,' he said. Dialwa added that the family is in shock because  the death came to them as a surprise.

The lighting also killed two cattle belonging to Doctor Ngele.

He said he released the cattle to go grazing on Friday afternoon but when he went to gather them on Saturday morning, he realised two were missing.

'Neighbours came to me saying that lightning killed my two cattle. Then I saw my cow and its calf lying dead nearby,' Ngele said.
