Bunz plans massive DJs contest

The competition will be looking for talented DJs with technical abilities, showmanship, tricks, creativity, audience interaction, blending, juggling and outro. DJs are expected to register in large numbers.

The competition will tour several towns and cities before the finals, which will also be hosted in Francistown.

It is scheduled to start in the city of Francistown, then on to Maun, Selebi-Phikwe, Palapye, Gaborone, Mochudi, Lobatse and Jwaneng.  The overall winner will then be sponsored to attend and participate in the annual Winter Music Conference (WMC) in Miami, Florida, United States of America (US) in March next year.

The managing director of Bunz Records, Peter Gaseitsiwe, popularly known as Bunzo, says the main objective is to inspire aspiring talented individuals, especially out-of-school youths of Botswana to become self-supporting. He said they are also intending to host the event annually.

'We want to motivate them in such a way that they become internationally recognised by interacting and competing with the best in the industry, thus marketing themselves and establishing links outside our landlocked country,' he said.

A registered business in Botswana, Bunz Record promotes international and local music.
