Kwaito-kwasa star Cisco B dies in road mishap

The popular musician met his fate on Saturday night as they returned from a performance in Bobonong where he sampled for the fans music from his new album, Masole.

Cisco B last week released a new festive season album, (Masole), which features super acts such as Slizer, Captain Dira, Franco, Biza Mupulu, Disco sensation Mercy M, among others.

The colourful album presents Cisco B, who had nicknamed himself Brigadier Cisco B, in full US Army gear, with photos of flying helicopters spitting bullets hovering in the background.

The sleeve also shows the brigadier shooting with a revolver.

The message in the album says he is the 'chief commander of the house-kwasa movement'.

He got the brigadier signature when he signed with Vee stable in 2008, when Vee also took a new stage name, Lt Gen Vee, for his album Stagalash, which was produced by BK Proctor, at the same time.

After failing to fulfil his true potential that showed in his debut album around 2006, hopes were high that this time around Cisco B would make his presence felt this festive season thanks to a rich line-up of featured artists. Cisco B also features in this festive season's collaboration album by Vee and Slizer. Narrating events leading to Cisco B's demise, Vee said the star had come to the show to distribute albums with the driver of the car they were using. Cisco B, who was not initially on Vee's line-up for the Bobonong show, would later pitch up unannounced and had fun with Vee on stage.

Vee says Cisco B and his driver left later that night, but their car was involved in a road accident that claimed the singer's life while the driver was discharged from a local hospital after being treated for injuries, but a dancer was referred to Mahalapye hospital.

Cisco Bikani originates from Sebina-Nshagashogwe. He worked as a song composer and singer.

Robert Dargie of DDS Studios, with whom Cisco B has been working with in recent years, was not immediately available when Showbiz attempted to contact him for a comment at the time of going to press.
