DSAs honour exceptional service providers

 

He said that hospitality and service culture are the key to  attaining a flourishing tourist industry.Speaking at the recently held 4th annual DSA, Marole congratulated the honoured men and women who have been rewarded and recognised and said they have demonstrated exceptional excellence and shown passion which goes hand-in-hand with the Debswana 'Be Passionate' value.  

He said that the DSA are inspired by the pride of Botswana which are the diamonds of this country. Marole pointed out that diamonds have sustained Botswana's economy and are the most valued asset in our nation today. He said the nominees have achieved monumental milestones in their careers and were nominated for their vision, creativity, drive  and enthusiasm  to do their jobs well and exceed  customers' expectations.

The awards represent a celebration of the diversity of the people as the service gems come from different companies and organisations.

The awards are initiated by Service Bridges Consulting to improve Botswana's  reputation as a beacon of hope to make sure that the culture of service delivery in this country is of excellence.

In her welcome remarks, the Managing Director of Service Bridges Consulting, Mabu Nteta said that although service delivery in Botswana has to improve significantly in both private and public sectors, there are however a few individuals who have shown that they are the best in their chosen fields.

Nteta said such individuals should therefore be recognised. She said that the theme for the awards this year centres on the call for everyone to be brand ambassadors by breathing life into the values of service.

Kenosi Radiporo from Associated Fund Administrators (AFA) walked away the winner by scooping the Diamond Person of the year. He also walked away with two other awards for Product Knowledge and Speed, Efficiency and Responsiveness. As the diamond person of the year, Radiporo has won himself a voucher worth P 20, 000 strictly for diamond jewellery, a trip for two people to the Okavango delta whose value is just  under  P13, 000, a Blackberry handset and accessories, an exclusive visit to Jwaneng mine and other vouchers.

Special awards went to Alpha Mmereki  of Cab of Note as he was praised for being time conscious, reliable and friendly.

People in Uniform was scooped by Assistant Superintendent Boiki  Mosalemotho for the exceptional work he does on the road conducting traffic.

Wame Molepo from Mascom was honoured for being an Up and Coming service leader.

The Mogaka award was snatched by James for serving with honour and pride.
