Mapantsula hold Mamoja-Diskie

Troubled Lobatse giants, Extension Gunners, brushed aside a week of turmoil that has seen  their Committee and coach resigning, as they came to  Francistown and frustrated the unbeaten Ecco City Greens, holding them to a 1-1 draw.

It was a different story as the Lobatse giants touched at the Francistown stadium, and it looked like all their troubles had been healed as the departed coach, Daniel Chico Nare, was also seen in their midst, right in charge of the team, yet again!

Their cloud of supporters was blinding, too, at the stadium and they seemed to feed their beloved club with positive vibes.

Gunners started the match on a high  with their marksman Otlaadisa  TRX Mohabi giving his former defender Emmanuel Nlu and Mooketsi Hlabano torrid time. Fittingly, Mohambi netted the opener and only goal for his side on the 12th minute with a superb  header following a long spell of goal-melee action at their opponents' half.

ECCO goal machine Malepa  Chippa Bolelang and Lenyeletse answered for their side after the latter found himself unmarked on ECCO defenders. Hlabano and Mmoloki Kafuko played a sterling role  to cope with the tricky duo of Mohambi and Maano Ditshupo in a fast-paced encounter. It was the visitors from Peleng who looked destined for all the points but Mapantsula were also guilty of wasting the numerous chances they created in a game that also had ECCO goal minder, Chamunorwa Madamombe, working over-time. Ditshupo failed to seal the first half with his short sailing away on Madamombe's post. Gunners' captain Ofentse Mmipi contributed to the high pace fighting for possession with ECCO centre-man, Kafuko.

It was a poor day for ECCO's trusted goal scorers, Malepa and Bonolo Fraiser, as they could not click on the day.

Lady luck seemed to had  deserted Fraiser as he fluffed chances.

In a post-match interview, ECCO City Greens' coach Maxwell Moyo said: 'It's a draw and I am not amazed with the final score. We always fight like this even in the Coca-Cola Cup,' Moyo said.
