Your report is misleading

The Monitor of November 8 carried an article entitled, 10 YEARS OF SUFFERING AT SECURITY SYSTEMS.

It is unfortunate that some workers of Security Systems deliberately mislead the The Monitor reporter by giving him an adulterated version of what is actually happening in the company. The reporter approached the Security Systems, Managing Director, regarding the pay dates for the workers.  The Managing Director, Gabriel Nkgetse explained to the reporter that the workers are paid between the third and fifth of every month, which is the company's normal monthly payment cycle.

He further explained that these are dates, which are in employment contracts or letters of employment agreed with the workers when they are employed.

This arrangement has been put in place to ensure that all workers are always paid on the agreed dates. The system has worked well for the company and its staff as Security Systems is one of the very few security companies that consistently pay its workers in full and always at the designated time.  In the past, earlier paydays have been arranged whenever possible.

The information provided in the newspaper article about the company operating an overdraft facility is incorrect as the company does not have an overdraft facility with any bank and is not in the process of negotiating for such facilities with any bank as reported.

Currently, the company pays for all its obligations including salaries from own resources.Security Systems has a workers welfare committee and would prefer that issues similar to that reported on should be taken up with the proper channels.

The company is incensed that the information given was not correctly reported and sincerely hopes that this is an isolated incident, which will not tarnish its relationship with the The Monitor.
