EMI deal is real - Master D

Sesinyi has told Showbiz that he has signed a deal with EMI Records in the United Kingdom (UK) where he has been studying as a student.

'Very soon people will see a guest from EMI South Africa on our television show. We are expecting the guest any time. He is being sent by EMI UK to come and observe how the Botswana show is progressing.

'I do not understand what all the suspicion is all about, we have the deal signed and sealed, we will fly the winner to London, where he or she will have an album produced at EMI studios. They will also market the album and the singer in the United Kingdom, that is the agreement we reached,' he said.

There are rumblings of discontent among Pop star Botswana crews over the deal. One of the insiders said he was in the dark about what is going on. ' Can you please ask this man what is really happening, because we are unable to convince sponsors who want to come on board. Master D should say what the UK deal involves', said a worried insider who told Showbiz that two potential sponsors, who were keen to support the show, were hesitant because there was no proof of the well publicised UK deal.

Pop star Botswana presenters have been inviting potential sponsors to come on board and advertise on the programme with little response but Master D, who made a name as a reggae singer and producer, said he was shocked to learn that people were suspicious 'there is something fishy about the deal'. He also clarified that there is a difference between his project Popstar Botswana and the famous television reality show, Pop Idols.  He said Popstar Botswana was his creation although the concept was similar.

'People think this is Idols, no, I have not bought the rights to do Idols in Botswana, this is Popstar Botswana,' explained the former police officer.
