Comets seek to extend lead

Comets have clung to top spot since displacing Masitaoka three weeks ago.

The Jwaneng side proved its mettle against former Premier League opponents Prisons XI with a convincing 2-0 victor at the Galaxy last weekend. Coach Oris Radipotsane has said that he wants his side to finish in the top four at the end of the first round.

In another interesting duel on Sunday, promotion-chasing Letlapeng host Mochudi Buffaloes at the Ramotswa show ground hoping to keep up pressure on both Comets and Killer Giants who are sitting at position one and two respectively.

But it would not be smooth sailing against a Buffaloes' side now under master tactician, Moshe Kooitsiwe.  Prisons XI hope to capitalise on Naughty Boys' problems on the technical bench to snatch a rare win in Tlokweng. Naughty Boys fired their coach Timmy Setswe and this is likely to destabilise the team. Prisons are still to hit a rich vein of form and have lost their billing as one of the promotion favourites at the start of the season.  In tomorrow's matches, former Premier League side, Mogoditshane Fighters host Moshupa-based Mathaithai. Once again, all eyes will be on Fighters who have not been convincing so far. Perhaps this is their chance to pick up the pieces before it is too late. Killer Giants face Masitaoka at Siga Grounds hoping to keep pressure on leaders, Comets.

Masitaoka's early form has deserted them but opponents can undermine them at their peril. Bottom of the log, Happy Hearts host Kanye Swallows at SSG Ground. Swallows have started collecting points and have moved from the base to ninth spot.
