TASC move Chiefs' game to Molepolole

TASC were scheduled to play Mochudi Centre Chiefs in Francistown tomorrow. But they have decided to take the game to Molepolole in a bid to capitalise on Chiefs' support in the south.

With some Premier League clubs failing to make ends meet financially, it is becoming a norm that the minnows with low home support prefer to play away to make more money. There is no doubt that Chiefs will attract more supporters in Molepolole than if they were to play in Francistown and this has prompted TASC to relocate the game. Miscellaneous recently did the same against Township Rollers when they were supposed to play in Selebi-Phikwe. They switched the game to Gaborone and got a near full-house at the UB Stadium. Although the move benefits clubs financially, it is likely to affect fans of small clubs who will be starved of action.

The game between Chiefs and TASC mean a lot to both sides. Chiefs cannot afford to lose further ground on pace-setters, Rollers, while TASC are in a precarious position in the log.

The Francistown side lie 14th with eight points from 12 games. They have tasted victory only once since the campaign kicked-off. Chiefs on the other hand are 11 points adrift of Rollers. They have 21 points and are fourth on the log. They drew with Gaborone United last Sunday to give advantage to Rollers who beat Notwane on Saturday.

There will be a battle of strugglers tomorrow when Black Peril host Motlakase at the SSKB Stadium. It is a must win game for both sides if they entertain hopes of moving out of the relegation zone. While Motlakase are languishing at the bottom with only six points, Black Peril are not far at position 12. Only four points separate the two teams. Motlakase's managers have reportedly thrown their weight behind under fire coach, Stanley Mwaanga, despite a poor bad spell. At UB Stadium, GU welcome relegation candidates, Miscellaneous. Extension Gunners and TAFIC lock horns at Lobatse Stadium.

On Sunday, ECCO City Greens host improving Nico United in Francistown. ECCO have drawn their last three games, giving Rollers a chance to increase their lead. Uniao Flamengo Santos take on BMC at Molepolole Stadium while Notwane and BDF XI clash at SSKB Stadium. Police XI will have a tough task in trying to stop a marauding Rollers at the UB Stadium. The games kick-off at 3.30pm except for the duels between Chiefs and TASC; and Rollers and Police XI, which start at 7pm. The GU-Miscellaneous game starts at 4pm.
