Peril, Letlapeng meet in title decider

If Mmesi wins, it will be the second time in two seasons that he will have helped a Ramotswa team win promotion. For Nthaga, it will be a memorable feat if he goes up as his side was campaigning in the second division only a season ago.  Peril are perched at the top with 38 points while Letlapeng have overtaken Prisons XI to the second spot with 36 points following the  weekend wins over Tlokweng United and Eastern Tigers. Peril are favourites to gain promotion considering that they are the leaders and only need a draw.

But Nthaga would have to work on his team's mental strength after a dour 0-0 draw with Masitaoka on Saturday. Letlapeng are in high spirits after their recent good run.

Interestingly, the game which was shifted to Gaborone by the Charles Chilisa-led league committee after allegations of favouritism has been taken back to its initial venue and Rock of Ages will now enjoy home ground advantage.

According to Mmesi, the game will be a mental test for his players. He said his players need to be smarter than their rivals.

'We have shown that we have got character. We are at a stage where our mental strength will be put to the test and that is where the focus has been during our training. It is a do-or-die for me and this is one game in which I could achieve a lot if we win,' Mmesi said.

'We have come from far where we were not visible but lately we have been able to resurface and the expectations are now high. 'But like I said, we need to be smart to beat our opponents. There is no need to put ourselves under pressure especially that we are now playing at home. We need to stay focused and continue where we left off this past weekend,' he said. Mmesi, who helped Killer Giants gain promotion last season, has made it clear he would be happy to give his home village another team in the be MOBILE Premier League.

Efforts to get a comment from Nthaga proved futile at the time of going to press.
