Family vow to continue Cynthia's legacy

Towards that end, the family have arranged to donate shoes to 14 orphaned children who missed out on a similar donation by Cynthia last year.

'We plan to make the donations to 14 children of Malokaganyane and Bethele on April 21,' Leshomo said.

She said some Australians who were working with Cynthia before her untimely death had donated a total of P3, 000.

She said with the remainder from that amount, they will buy and donate t-shirts to 40 orphans.

Leshomo said with donor-support, they intended establishing an orphanage before the end this year. 'We cannot give up on her idea,' she revealed.

At the time of her death, Cynthia had been collecting toys, books and crayons for use by children at the envisaged orphanage.

Cynthia died on December 23, 2006 at the Princess Marina Hospital after spending three months at a Canadian hospital.

A former Miss Stigma Free, she fought for the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS. Cynthia was 38 when she died.
