Wareus who was always the spectators' favourite from the onset seems to have learnt a lesson from last year's failure to come tops and corrected her mistakes.
However, though she was voted the fairest of them all, Emma was not an extraordinary girl from other girls that she competed with. Besides being tall and having a good-looking posture, Emma competed just on par with other girls.
Even during question time she was not the best. Emma was asked what she understood about the Botswana Brand and how she intended to use it to market Botswana if she won the title.
In response she said the Botswana brand is meant to represent all Batswana, young and old and said if she won she would use it to her best ability to market the country.
She, however, did not go into the details of how exactly she will use it. The beauty queen could not contain herself when it was finally announced that she was after all the fairest of them all.
The announcement of the queen was left in suspense for a few minutes after the announcement of the first and second princesses. During the suspension, revellers who turned up in large numbers shouted 'Emma, Emma, Emma'.
When it was finally announced that she was the one, clad in a green dress, the long, thin-legged beauty queen broke into tears as she waved her hand to greet the crowd.
Emma wins among other presents a Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) worth P400, 000. Naledi Moshoeshoe became the first princess. Moshoeshoe was outstanding in answering the question. The judge asked her which famous place she would take her to if asked to do so?:
'It definitely has to be my home village because it is the most beautiful place in the country rich in natural resources that I think everyone should see.'
The less fancied Bonny Serole is the second princess. Bonny's overconfidence seemed not to be approved of by many spectators, but it seems like it is the one that stole the judges' hearts.
Her possibility of making it to the top three, was ruled out by many during the question session. Bonny was asked which famous person her personality resembled and why? She said it was her mother because she is the woman that she respects for raising her. She said her mother's personality resembles that of other Batswana women.
