Pilane Should Stop using The Name Barata Phathi-BDP

Pilane is reminded that he can only call meetings for his new party (if at all it will ever be) and not under BDP or any of its organs. Be reminded that Barata-Phathi is a faction of the BDP and to this day continues to be so and all its members are members of the BDP. Therefore Pilane cannot speak for Barata-Phathi.

Barata-Phathi are those members who love their party and still remain loyal to it, yet prepared to criticise and stand against anything they feel is wrong, in a courteous way and within the provisions of the laws of their party. Barata-Phathi are those members within the party who are prepared to respect others and the will of the majority and the authority of the leadership yet expecting the same from them.

Barata-Phathi are respectful and abhor insults, especially directed at elders and leaders. Batswana and Madomkrag from both factions should not identify themselves with, and should not allow themselves to be a party to a group of people who are disrespectful, full of hate and insults. Barata-Phathi ke batho ba ba nang le botho, lorato le tlotlano.

Bagaetsho there is no party called Barata-Phathi and there is no party called Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) to date. People wish there could be such a party, and we can only stay and watch if it would ever be. If one day BMD becomes a party we will interact with it just like we do with other political parties in Botswana. To say BMD challenges President Ian Khama to call snap elections, as Pilane stated, is deceitful. If President Khama calls for elections today nobody will see, or even hear a party called BMD standing and contesting those elections, not in any one constituency or council. Pilane knows very well that legally there is no party called BMD and he knows very well that his charges and call for snap elections, which the BDP would lose are a day dream. Bagaetsho be reminded that Rre Pilane (I call him rre because ke a mo tlotla as a human being) is not a member of Barata-Phathi and cannot be their spokesperson.Segaetsho K Garekwe,BDP Public Relations Manager
