TAFIC relegation will be disastrous - Moyo

TAFIC supporters dread the day their beloved Matjimenyenya will be demoted to the lower ranks. Moyo, who arrived at the time when the Francistown side was languishing at the bottom of the log, admits that escaping the dreaded axe will be an uphill battle.

TAFIC play resurgent BMC on Sunday. The other teams they face are cross-town rivals and nemesis, ECCO City Greens, BDF and other relegation candidates, Killer Giants.

Asked whether some of the teams they would face were easy meat, the former Notwane mentor wisely elected to differ.

'At this time of the season, you cannot underestimate any team. Everyone is fighting to end the season in a respectable position. But I can tell you, TAFIC has the capacity to beat any team.

'We have been playing below par, but we need to change that and I think signs of improvement are there for everyone to see,' he said. TAFIC are recognised in Botswana football since their establishment in 1958.

Rollers, whom TAFIC held to a 1-1 draw last weekend, came into existence in 1961. In terms of following, the team mostly draws capacity crowds at the Francistown Stadium.

Supporter, Edwin Mosangwa, a resident of Blue Town said Francistown would never be the same if TAFIC were relegated.

'I dread such a situation. TAFIC are a big team and we follow it in large numbers in this city and we are praying hard that they do not get relegated,' said Mosangwa.

Currently, TAFIC aka Undipe-ndi-kupe, are 13th with 25 points from 26 games.

Their strikers have scored a paltry 26 goals against 31 scored by leading be MOBILE Premier League goal-scorer, Terrence Mandaza.
