Rhinos ready to gore Gunners

Rhinos will be eager to burst the Gunners' bubble in a match that will be played at the Gaborone Club. EMG Gunners lead the standings with 23 points after five games while UB Rhinos are fourth. Gunners' coach, Neal Gouws told Mmegi Sport that he was not impressed by the way his players played against the Gaborone Hogs in Selebi-Phikwe last Saturday. He said that though they won the encounter 10-8, his charges made a lot of mistakes. 'We won the game by two points and I was not impressed by that margin. We have been working hard this week to rectify our mistakes,' said Gouws.

Gunners lost 12-7 to Rhinos in their previous meeting. Gouws admitted that this would be a tough test for his side as Rhinos boasts of experienced players, some of whom are in the national team.

He said his side has played second fiddle to Rhinos for some time now. The coach said they would take the encounter seriously as they respect their opponents. He mentioned that his charges are also aware of what is expected from them.  Rhinos' chairman, Lesedi Keekae said morale in their camp is high and that preparations have gone well.

'We acknowledged our shortcomings and we have worked hard on them,' said Keekae.

He said they would use the presence of experienced players to their advantage. Keekae added that their aim this season is to reclaim the league.

He warned Gunners that his team will settle for nothing less than a win tomorrow. He, however, acknowledged that Gunners have improved over the years and have been playing some excellent rugby.

He said they have never watched Gunners play but that would not disadvantage them though Gouws has seen them during the Vultures' trials.  He said they would be all out for victory as they have done in other league matches.

Keekae called upon rugby fans to come and witness a match of the month. In other games, Gaborone Hogs take on debutants Gantsi Hungry Lions who are still in a celebratory mood after walloping fellow newcomers, Desert Whales 25-0 last weekend. Tuskers play Whales and the Francistown team will be trying to pick  itself after losing 22-13 to Ghetto Sharks. BDF Cheetahs travel to Francistown to face the hungry Sharks. Cheetahs go into the encounter after a 6-3 win over UB Rhinos.
