BDP gags Ntuane again

A press statement from Tsholetsa House states that the BDP caucus, which met yesterday, has resolved that a motion by Gaborone West South MP, Botsalo Ntuane calling for a constitutional review will be withdrawn.

According to the statement the BDP caucus reasoned that the motion was untimely and that more time was needed to allow for further consultations.

'As a result the motion will be withdrawn,'the statement concludes.

Ever since the Motswaledi case there has been some disquiet expressed on the expansive powers given to the president, with  commentators imploring  parliament to consider a constitutional review.  There have been suggestions that some Barata Phathi, malcontents might be forced to bolt out of the party but it would appear the BDP is using the BDP parliamentry caucus to rein in dissatisfied members.
