Prisons XI pile pressure on Black Peril

Black Peril could only manage a goalless draw against Tlokweng United on Saturday following defeat from Prisons XI the previous weekend. On Sunday, Prisons XI, who beat Kgabosetso by the same margin in the first round did not have a good start.

They conceded a penalty in the 36th minute as Kgabosetso displayed good skill but young goalkeeper Moagi Letsomo turned hero as he saved a second spot- kick in two weeks. But within a minute, tables were turned when Kgabosetso conceded a penalty kick and Kabelo Motlhabane made no mistake from the spot.

Tatenda Mbikiwa headed home to make it 2-0 before the break and Gaolebe Mokolokoto sealed victory early in the second half with a powerful shot.

Though things look good for coach Juluka Rankhudu at this stage, Prisons XI still face some tricky fixtures before they could be certain of winning the First Division and coming back to the Premier League. Prisons XI face tough matches against Naughty Boys, stubborn Mathaithai, Letlapeng and Mogoditshane Fighters who are out of contention for the title but are still hopeful of qualifying for the promotion play-offs.

Naughty Boys who were relegated from the be MOBILE Premier League last season now find themselves starring relegation following a 3-0 defeat to Young Strikers.

It was Young Strikers' second consecutive win after they shocked Letlapeng last weekend. Young Strikers now move off the bottom to 11th spot.  Kgabosetso have dropped to the bottom and have only four games to save themselves from relegation. They look like a team that has surrendered to fate.

Their goalkeeper Gofaone Mooketsi kept shouting to the bench on Sunday that they should introduce other players arguing that they had already lost the game.

Young Strikers are not safe yet but history suggests that they play good football in the second round and this should be their salvation. Masitaoka suffered a set back as they lost to Mathaithai on Saturday while Letlapeng's game against Eastern Tigers in Ramotswa was called off due to heavy rain.
