Fighters' defeat shocked us - Mgadla

The player conceded that personally he is in great agony because he lost to his former team when GU are desperately looking to win the competition for the first time. 'We were shocked.

'This was my worst loss since I joined GU. I was left speechless but this is football,' Mgadla said. The speedy player stated that GU underrated the former giants who are now campaigning in the First Division and paid the price.

'I think we took them lightly, we thought this is Fighters who are in the First Division and we anticipated a win before we even kicked the ball. All the players are to blame for this.

We did not take the game seriously until the second half when it was too late,' he said. 'We created few chances in the first half but Fighters were coming at us with speed and created a lot of chances,' he added. Charles Mositwane's goals in each half were enough to bury GU.

Mgadla said they want to put their Coca-Cola Cup disappointment behind them and focus on fighting for a respectable finish in the be MOBILE Premier League where their title defence lie in tatters.

After a poor start under coach Mike Sithole, the player said he is happy with his form. 'Under new coach (Manfred Chabinga), I am playing well and enjoying my game and I am only looking to improve. Sithole used to put me in and out of the team and that affected my form. Since I started playing regularly, my confidence is growing,' he said.
