Dr Shuvra Is Qualified And Competent

The hospital would like to clarify that the doctor in question went through the relevant recruitment process of the Ministry of Health. She went through an interview and screening for registration by the Botswana Health Professionals Council.

It is important that we emphasise that Dr Shuvra, who resumed duty in February this year, was hired because of the competencies she demonstrated during her interviews and the evidence of her qualifications. The panel that interviewed her deemed her fit for this particular job.

Another important point that should be understood is that, measures are in place to deal with new employees. One of them is putting them under observation immediately to ensure that they settle into the environment and that their strengths and weaknesses are identified. If anything is found that would suggest incompetence it is dealt with accordingly.
