Amabinneplaas reinforced ahead of Zebras clash

Amabinneplaas, who brought a weakened team to Gaborone, have called up Ditheko Mototo, Moses Spandeel, Thembile Kanono and Kurt Lentjies. The players missed the first leg as their teams were preparing for the Telkom Knockout Cup.

However, Amabinneplaas' coach, Serame Letsoaka will only join the team on the day of the match. South African newspaper, Sowetan has reported that Letsoaka left for Mauritius for a Confederation of African Football (CAF) course. Kenneth 'Conti' Kubheka has been roped in to drill Amabinneplaas in their preparations. He  will be assisted by Molefi Ntseki.

The Zebras need at least a scoring draw to progress while a loss w knock them out while a 0-0 stalemate will mean the tie will be decided through a shoot-out. Defensively, they have been doing well but have been firing blanks in front of goal.

A 0-0 draw with Namibia last weekend suggest that they might struggle to find the back of the net in Germiston. The nation will be pinning hopes on youngster, Mogakolodi 'Tsotso' Ngele as well as Mokgathi Mokgathi to score goals. Ngele in particular surprised many people with his brave showing in the first leg. The youngster has been in top form for his club, Uniao Flamengo Santos.   Despite pleas to give ECCO City Greens' striker, Malepa Bolelang a starting berth, coach Stanley Tshosane has always preferred to bring him late in the game. Amabinneplaas had a fruitful preparation on Tuesday when they defeated Orlando Pirates 2-0.

Meanwhile, the women's national Under-17 team left for Germiston where they face a near impossible task of reversing a 9-1 first leg defeat to their South African counterparts in the FIFA Women's Under-17 Championship.

Once again the game will be played as a curtain raiser to the Zebras-Amabinneplaas match. Kick-off is 2pm.
