Seepapitso who called a spade a spade

Kgosi Tawana: Mr Chairman,[Seepapitso] I do not know this procedure.  I only saw your notice about the elections of a specially elected member when we were left with only about five days to come for the meeting.  Therefore I am requesting the elections be postponed until the next meeting of the house of chiefs.  Thank you, Sir.

Kgosi Seepapitso: I am told a fax was sent to your office.  Apparently somehow, or the other, it escaped your attention!

'I think we are at pains trying to understand you. what you are saying kgosi is that yesterday he was a politician and this morning he is no more a politician,'

'If there is anything I hate is a man threatening me.  That I do not like or accept.  This has always happened in this house, there are some ministers who have taken it upon themselves to trade threats in this house,  I am not referring to you minister Kgoroba, but you might as well take it to your colleagues that we resent and abhor that attitude. We once told DR.  Chiepe to deliver the message to her colleagues that we do not accept threats in this house. We are here on duty for our tribes, not for a section of the tribe like you.  You have been elected by a section of our tribes.' - speaking on 27 January 1998 during the 77th meeting of the house of Chiefs

'I am not only Gangwaketse chief, wherever I go in Botswana I am a Chief and I think this must be made very clear,'

'It looks like this House is not receiving its due respect. What we suggest in this is taken very lightly, you despise us, you do not recognize us. And I must make it succinctly clear that we do not want that and we shall not accept it. The minister mentioned that some words were uttered to the presidents, he is a politician, secondly a president and his speeches that he gives aroind the countryside are there to criticized.

If then we are going to fear to criticize the presidents only because he is the president, then we are losing the aret of democracy' speaking on 27 January 1998 during the 77th meeting of the house of Chiefs'Consultancy,' a never ending song in our government. They want to build a toilet 'consultancy', and not the local consultants for that matter.  This government would go for an Indian who will tell you that he can teach English and Setswana,' speaking in 1998 during the 77th meeting of the house of Chiefs

'You heard your colleague here this morning saying that chiefs cannot travel because of financial constraints, a whole minister saying this.  But he is leaving tomorrow.'
