Letshego donates beds to NRH

NRH public relations officer, Caiphus Gabana said the donation was made after Letshego noted that there was an acute shortage of beds at the health institution.

'One of their workers was admitted here and they noticed the shortage of beds that we were experiencing,' said Gabana.

He said Letshego then decided to help the hospital through their social responsibility programme. Gabana welcomed Letshego's donation which he said comes at a critical time when some patients have had to sleep on the floor due to the congestion sometimes experienced at the hospital.

Gabana said the beds will be used in the Gynaecology Ward which is always busy. 'Sometimes it is really bad when a patient comes from theatre and we have no bed to put them on to recuperate, which now defies the purpose,' he said.

He said that shortage of beds contribute to a non-conducive environment at the hospital. 'When a patient is lying on the floor, the doctor also has to come and kneel down to assess the patient and have a conversation with the patient which is not conducive at all,' he added.

Letshego management could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press.
