Letlapeng fire, then reinstate coach

The tie between TASC and Letlapeng briefly cost Mmesi his job after the coach was accused of delaying in pulling out the duo of former Zebras' striker, Tshepiso 'Sox' Molwantwa and Maniki Moalafi. The match ended deadlocked 0-0.

After the match, Letlapeng chairman, Tebogo Sefawe is reported to have had a heated argument with Mmesi and told him to leave the team.

However, the club's management decided on Monday to reverse the chairman's decision and re-instated Mmesi.

Letlapeng public relations officer, Herbert Malejane told Mmegi Sport that they decided to overturn the chairman's decision since he acted unilaterally and his decision was not in the best interest of the team.

'In fact Mmesi was never fired, we discovered that the two had a misunderstanding in Molepolole and Mmesi decided to quit. But what transpired there was not really the view of the committee and we had to sit down with the two men on Monday. I am happy that they now understand that it is all water under the bridge and they should focus on helping the team win promotion,' Malejane said.

Although he did not point a finger at Mmesi for failing to win at least one of the two games, Malejane said the team drew games they were supposed to have easily won.

'If you look at the chances that we created against both Killer Giants and Tasc, you can see that we were in control of both games but failed to convert the many chances that we created. We were supposed to get six points from those games,' he said.

Mmesi said although his chairman had interfered in his job, he decided to stay on after the committee's intervention.

He said his focus is on helping the team gain promotion to the Premier League.

'I am a forgiving person and already I have started strategising for the weekend games because I came here to achieve something,' Mmesi said.
