Kutlwano's title prospects brighten

The game was seen as a litmus test, which the Gaborone side passed with flying colours. Kutlwano has been in good form since the beginning of the season, beating giants such as BDF VI. Their coach Isaac Samuel had every reason to be optimistic after the victory over Mafolofolo. He believes that if his side beats Police, in their six remaining games, then they will win the title.

Police are also title favourites and showed their mettle by beating a tough Mafolofolo.

Kutlwano are in mid-table as they have played fewer games but they should shoot to the top if they continue with their rich vein of form. On Sunday, they overcame a Mafolofolo side that is  usually competitive but failed to rise to the occasion. Kutlwano took full advantage of their rival's poor organisation.

Mafolofolo lost all the three sets and lacked the hunger to win. There was near chaos when some Mafolofolo players threatened to stop playing as they accused the referee, Edgar Serole, of bias.

Serole sent off Mafolofolo captain, Rongeree Kuanguabo, for dissent. A Kutlwano player had touched the net and though Mafolofolo was given the advantage, they still felt the referee should have blown for the infringement. Kuanguabo lunged at the referee and thereafter refused to obey when the official summoned him. Mafolofolo coach, Kabo Ntshinogang, could not immediately comment on the sending-off. He, however, said players should be given a chance to register their complaints with the referee. He said most of his players are young and still lack basic skills.
