Milez releases video

In this video, titled You! The Remix, Milez (real name Milan Williams), features award winning hip-hop artist Game 'Zeus' Bantsi and Samba.

As the video seems lacking in a few areas, especially in editing and creativity in regard to locations, the inclusion of more lively performances and dances would have most definitely given the video a flair that could make it a marvel to watch.

Despite the few challenges, the song's melody and beat are superb, something that explodes the perceptions held by most people when it comes to hip-hop. For the song does not contain any vulgar language, but rather has more celebratory words such as 'represent your cool'.

The video can be quite an inspiration, too, in that instead of featuring more scenes of parties and alcohol drinking sprees it features a few sports scenes involving people playing soccer and softball.

People might also appreciate the pride shown by the muso whose mother hails from Mochudi as he features a sign showing the village.  In this video, Milez however over uses the China Restaurant scene, which one would immediately assume must have played a part in sponsoring the project. But all in all the video is excellent, and both the song and the video should appeal to hip-hop lovers, as it has some originality because the musician did not go out of his way to ape popular American hip-hop heavy- weights, which most local hip-hop artists have been accused of.  The video is produced and directed by Tony T of Tru Jam International.

Interestingly, Milez derives his inspiration from international hip-hop gurus Dr Dre, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Notorious BIG and Eminiem. The young artist started showing interest in music during his school years, and would emcee at school talent shows, and ciphers with school mates.

Milez took part in the Yarona FM Sprite Rap Activity Jam in 2004, and emerged third, something that won him instant recognition in hip-hop circles. Two of his songs Drink and Crazy Flow featured in a mix-tape called Open Mic put together by Flame from Key Zone Entertainment.

He featured in another mix-tape called The Portrait of Music, from Brutal Line. The muso has three singles to his name - You, the original track, You the Remix, and Break It Down featuring Ozzy.

Milez is currently working on his debut album 180 Milez/hr under the management of long-time Francistown music promoter, event organiser and video director, Tony T, of Tru Jam International.
