Three Batswana die in SA crash

Public relations officer for Botswana Police Service Assistant Commissioner, Christopher Mbulawa said although they do not as yet have details on the accident, reports indicate that the three young men were burned beyond recognition and police are assisting their South African counterparts in identifying the relatives of the deceased.

'As it is at the moment the case is being investigated by South African police and we can assist them by identifying the parents of the deceased,' Mbulawa said yesterday.

Apparently the three young men were travelling from a game between United States of America and England that was played on Saturday night. 'At the moment we can't tell whether there were any survivors because we do not know how many people were in the car,' he said.

He further said they do not know where the bodies of the men are being kept but investigations are continuing. He said once the parents have been identified they will be taken to South Africa to identify the bodies before they are repatriated to Botswana.  Unconfirmed reports indicate that one of the deceased originates from Lotlhakane in the Southern District, another is from Serowe while the third is yet to be identified.
