Sithole leaves bitter taste at BMC

He delivered his resignation letter to BMC on Monday. However, the club feels it was betrayed by the coach.

BMC spokesperson Themba Stimela told Mmegi Sport that they were disappointed at the manner in which their relationship with Sithole ended. Sithole indicated in his resignation letter dated June 1 that he would be serving a month's notice. 'We felt betrayed because after the rumours surfaced that he was leaving to join Chiefs, we met with him and asked him if it was true but he denied.

The last meeting we had with him was on June 1 and he said he was not going anywhere. Then six days later, he gave the vice chairman a resignation letter dated June 1 meaning he knew he was going during our earlier meeting but did not say anything. He even made some recommendations on what the club needs to do and which players to buy for next season,' Stimela said. He hopes they will meet Sithole before the end of the week to find out if the management did something, which forced him to leave.

'We do not know if we should go ahead with his recommendations or not. We have so many unanswered questions,' he said.

'What Clever Hunda did with Santos was straight forward because after receiving a better offer from Police XI, he told his bosses and the two parted ways amicably. We would have expected the same from a coach of Sithole's calibre,' Stimela said.

Efforts to get a reaction from Sithole proved futile as he claimed to be driving when contacted but later he ignored calls.
