Drama unfolds at My Star show

Judge Kgomotso Tshwenyego asked both contenders to give reasons why they deserved to stay in the competition. 'I got talent,' Wame said.

Unfortunately, things did not turn out as she had anticipated because Omphemetse and Stephanie were sent backstage and being the only contender left on stage she assumed that that marked her end in the battle of vocals. Disillusioned and literally fragmented was the state in which she was. She had every reason to be, though any artist has their own best moments and downs; last Friday shall forever be labelled in her singing calendar as she had given the battle not only part of her breath but her heart and soul. May be the greatest mistake she committed was to ass-u-me as it 'leaves an a** out of you and me'.

Not only did Wame assume that her being on stage alone pronounced that she was sent packing - the audience was equally awestruck. Being the drama queen she always is, Kgomotso later told Wame that she was saved as well. Wondering why no elimination was made, the audience together with the contenders were soon answered when Kgomotso announced that Lorato Rantao was not punctual for the evening's performance an act that led to her being disqualified from the making of a star race.

'This is a competition that is looking for a star, and that particular person ought to be disciplined and punctuality is part of that,' she said.

Not only did the competition loss one of its contenders, as Lorato was one contestant though not the best of all and possibly with slim chances of being named in the top three, she had a great fashion sense and confidence that would have made her an entertainer one day.

The competition is left with only seven contestants, and things do not look pretty good for Gaone; who has resorted to tears on stage as the music industry requires some level of maturity and if at all she wants to stand before masses in concerts and other functions she has to mature.

The other contender, who has the looks to be a star, as her image on a CD sleeve would have the potential of drawing people to listen to the content, is Stephanie. However, the audience is always decrying that she performs songs that they are not familiar with.
