Omphemetse Bites The Dust

Before her eviction Omphemetse sang Michael Jackson's Heal The World and danced as best as she could to try to save herself from the axe that eventually caught up with her.

June 25 marked the day that king of pop Michael Jackson died last year and Omphemetse paid her tribute to her icon just before she left the show.

She was battling against Kgalalelo Abotseng and Kedibonye Gaotseelwe who were in the bottom three with her. However, none of the judges, including the guest judge Botho from RB2, voted for Omphemetse to stay on in the competition citing that both Kedibonye and Kgalalelo had more vocal strength.

Commenting about her departure, Omphemetse said that she was grateful for the exposure that she got from the show. She also stated that she would be venturing into afro-pop and house as compared to the genre that she has been singing in the competition.  Kedibonye managed to save herself by performing Whitney Houston's Where Do Broken Hearts Go to perfection by keeping a balance on the notes while she was at it.

However, the night remained a dull one as none of the contestants managed to amuse. Galaletsang Kasweka had a go at Tina Turner's Simply The Best and did not do much justice to the song.

When commenting on Galaletsang's performance, one of the judges, Sid simply told her that she messed everything up. Sid also told Kgalalelo that she sucked, which was quite rather harsh and out of the blue, looking at the fact that Sid could barely keep his eyes open and looked somewhat tired throughout the show.

With the grand finale coming up on July 9, the contestants are far from being ready if their Friday performance is anything to go by.  They showed lack of commitment to both their task songs and other artist's songs.
