Portugal 7 - North Korea 0 The Portuguese proved too strong for the North Koreans at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town as they registered their biggest ever World Cup victory in the Group G encounter. Portugal went into the match after a draw with Ivory Coast. The goals have boosted coach Carlos Queiroz's side which put them on advantage against fellow Group G Ivory Coast. Goal scorers were Raul Meireles (28), Simao (52), Hugo Almeida (55), Tiago (59, 88), Liedson (80), Ronaldo (86). Portugal will face Brazil in their final group games on Friday in Durban.

Chile 1 - Switzerland 0 Chile took command of Group H after they collected maximum points from their two group matches. The Durban born Gonzalez scored the only goal in the 74th minute against the ten men Swiss at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Valon Behrami was sent off in the first half. Chile will take on Spain while Switzerland will face Honduras on Friday.

Spain 2 - Honduras 0 David Villa scored the two goals but failed to complete a hat trick when he missed a penalty at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg. The Spanish redeemed themselves from a shock defeat in the opening match against Switzerland. Spain is now second in Group H with three points beating Switzerland on goal difference.
