Kgathi gives it to Brazil

Rahman Gumbo, who won a double with Township Rollers this year believes the 2010 World Cup will be a tournament for the underdogs.

Gumbo warned that teams like Chile, Paraguay and Serbia will shock traditional powerhouses.

'It will be tricky. I see dark horses such as Serbia, Chile and Paraguay surprising most people. A dark horse will win it,' Gumbo said. He predicted that South Africa's status in the tournament will be known after the opening match against Mexico today. 'If they win, they will go past the group stages,' Gumbo said.

The Voice sports reporter, Kabelo Dipholo put his money on the Samba Boys and Spain.

'You can never rule out Brazil. I think both Brazil and Spain will reach the semi-final,' Dipholo said.

He predicted that Algeria will pull a shocker and proceed beyond the group stages. The Algerians, who sensationally booted out blood rivals, Egypt in the qualifiers, are pitted in a tough group with England, the US and Slovenia.

Like Gumbo, Dipholo said South Africa's performance at the tournament will depend on the match against Mexico this afternoon.

'Everything will be clear after tomorrow (this afternoon) clash,' Dipholo said.

Four-4-Two soccer reporter, Kgosana Masaseng sees Brazil and 1966 champions, England reaching the final. He predicted that South Africa will proceed to the knock out stage after winning one and drawing two of their group matches.

Masaseng said Ivory Coast and Cameroon will go as far as the quarterfinals.
