Koko rejoins Rollers

Although his club Mochudi Centre Chiefs and Rollers said they are not aware of the development, Mmegi Sport has it on good authority that the quick and skillful midfielder has returned to his former club.

'I can confirm that Nandos has joined Rollers and put pen to paper today (yesterday). The contract will run for two seasons,' a source close to the development told Mmegi Sport yesterday. It is understood that Koko played the last four months of last season without a contract at Chiefs after the deal between the two parties ended in January. The player has been unhappy for quite sometime at Chiefs after the club failed to fulfill promises made to him. Recently, Koko was supposed to go for trials at newly promoted Vasco Da  Gama in the South African Premier League but the deal fell through.

Contacted yesterday, Rollers managing director, Somerset Gobuiwang referred Mmegi Sport to club secretary Khumo Masonya who said that he does not know anything about the player's move to Rollers. He said that he would have known had the deal taken place but he did admit that they had shown interest in the exciting player.'Everyone would want to have a player of his calibre but there is nothing concrete,' he added.

hiefs' communications manager, Clifford Mogomotsi said he does not know anything about the player's move to their rivals. He said their chief executive officer (Oupa Kowa) has been tasked with negotiating contracts with several players including Koko. He did confirm that the player was training with Chiefs before joining the Zebras on camp. Koko joined Chiefs two seasons ago in a move that left many Rollers' supporters shocked especially as he was the best player in the team at the time.

With many people already anticipating a fierce battle between the two clubs over coach Rahman Gumbo who has left Rollers for Chiefs, Koko's transfer might further strain relations between the two sides. Some of Rollers' players who are said to be on Chiefs' wanted list among them Edwin Moalosi, Itayi Gwandu, Edwin Olerile and Lawrence Majawa were the key men in winning the league and Coca-Cola Cup double last season.
