Platinum Stars ready to get Mandaza

He has been linked with a host of South African clubs including Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu and Bloemfontein Celtic.Pirates were tipped as Mandaza's likely destination because of the close relationship between their administrative manager, Floyd Mbele and Rollers' boss, Somerset Gobuiwang.

However, the Buccaneers recently signed Malawian striker Chiukepo Msowoya from Rwandan champions APR.Platinum Stars' goalkeeper, Tapuwa Kapini confirmed to Mmegi Sport that Mandaza is presently trying his luck at the Rustenburg based club. 'Terrence is here training with us. We haven't done much so far because we have been doing physical training. He still has to impress the technical team,' Kapini said.  A Rollers' source said Stars have already tabled an offer for the striker. Stars were at one time rumoured to have offered P1 million for the striker. 'From what I heard, Platinum Stars tabled an offer to the club for Mandaza last week,' the source said.

But Mbele did not rule out his club's chances of signing Mandaza after signing a Malawian forward. 'Chiefs have (Jose) Torrealba and (Knowledge) Musona. Sundowns have done that - they have two Zimbabwean strikers who recently joined them. If you look at the league, we conceded the least number of goals, but we were third from the bottom in terms of goals scored. That shows you our problem is the attack so we could still do with the two of them.' Meanwhile, Zimbabwe's Premiership giants Highlanders have joined the queue for Mandaza's signature as they seek to bolster their misfiring strike force.   Highlanders' secretary Andrew Tapela said they will offer the player a good package, though he admitted the entry of South African sides in the race for the talented player will complicate matters.
