Kalavango losers in busy transfer period

Kalavango were the major losers after seeing five of their players leave the men and women teams. Three players left the women's team while the men's side lost two. The Gaborone side, however, managed to register three players.

BDF VI recruited the highest number of players after signing Gloria Malapa from Kalavango women side and Kabo Sesana (Spiking Stars), Rapelang Seakgosing (Kalavango) and Moris Sebinyane from Spartans. Mafolofolo registered the least number of players after signing two.

Mafolofolo coach Kabo Ntshinogang said they wanted to register more players, particularly for their men's side but the targets preferred to stay with small teams where action is assured.

'We had talked to many players but they were not interested in our teams,' Ntshinogang explained. He said it is difficult to get players because there is no remuneration.

Ntshinogang predicts that his men's side will continue to struggle since they failed to recruit players.

He is confident that the women's side can excel with the material they have.

Botswana Volleyball Federation (BVF) vice president, George Keotsene said the transfers went well although in some instances, players failed to understand some issues involved in changing clubs.
