Biggie's own horror island

Their garden has been turned into a Horror Island. Big Brother's brief to the housemates states that they have been told they have a terrible incurable disease.

The only cure is the Golden Snake, kept in the Glasshouse and guarded by other snakes.  The housemates have to brave their way into the Glasshouse and look around for a small golden snake. The all-important clue is that this golden snake is not real. But all the rest are!

Big Brother will blow a whistle when it is safe for the housemates to pick up the golden snake, and run!They have been instructed to add the snake to the rest of the treasures collected in this week's task. Meanwhile, the housemates have taken 50 percent of their food and luxuries (alcohol and cigarettes) money and put it up for a bet with Biggie.

If they win the task they will get 150 percent of the money.

In the first stage of the task the housemates had to fish out a gold coin from a bowl full of cockroaches. Some housemates were a bit unsure about what percentage they should bet. Last week they bet all their money and when they ran out of food they could not buy more.

They embarked on a violent strike on Saturday.  Biggie has deducted 10 percent from the $200,000 (R1,466 million) prize.  The money will be restored if the housemates master the 'Stand Up, Take Action Against Poverty' campaign.  First up was South Africa's Lerato, who said a prayer several times before dipping her hand into the bowl. She screamed and complained that the roaches were bitting her, but her housemates cheered her on.

She finally took it out and one-by-one the housemates followed her in fishing out their coins and placing them in a treasure box.   Meryl from Namibia was also freaked out, but kept reminding herself about the bet. Of all eight men, Nigeria's Uti was the only one who took long to dip in his hand and take out a coin. He had earlier confessed that cockroaches were his worst fear.

Uti had suggested that they bet all their money. The second round of the task, was downing a gross cocktail.
