Funeral turns into political rally

In a lighthearted session, the politicians engaged in the dirty tricks that win them elections.

First to take the podium was Kanye North constituency representative, Molamu Makgosi, who told mourners that the BDP is a bad party.

He talked abut how Batsile won the primary elections on several occasions during his days at the party but the organisation used its crooked ways to stop him from standing for the general election.

O ne a wina ditlhopho, party ya Domi e bo e mo di tseela ka bodipa,' Makgosi said.

He said even in 2009 Batsile did not lose but he was cheated by the BDP though he was with BNF. But the best was yet to come when the area councillor, Seofeteng Gontse, took the podium.

The blunt speaking councillor kept mourners in stitches when he talked about events at Domkrag. Gontse, who seems to have been Batsile's loyal partner in crime, took mourners through their political journey with Batsile.

'Domkrag e ikaga ka boherehetshana,' he said to the laughing mourners. He said they always fought for things to be done correctly in BDP but finally left when they realised that things will not change.

He said people like Kentse Rammidi won elections because some crooked party members whom he labelled as 'maherehetshana' helped them.

The short and bulky Gontse who was on top of his game went on to say, 'They hated us and always talked bad about me saying I look like a 48kg gas cylinder,' he said.

Former Letlhakeng MP, Filbert Nagafela, also gave mourners something to laugh about. 'Batsile was a politician and his sons should be raised to inherit his political career,' he said.

When mourners were still wondering what he meant, he went on to explain: 'Ngwana wa ga Seretse ke yo o ja rraagwe boswa ja botautona, bone ke eng ba ka se ke ba ja boswa?' he asked.

'Maherehetshana a go ntseng go buiwa ka one ha, ke bone mathata,' he said.
