BISA 2010 Games 'Better Organised'

'I think this time around the games have been better organised despite a few problems we encountered in terms of accommodation of students.  We, however, did our best to make sure everyone was accommodated within the periphery of the games,' she said.

She said this year the government heeded their request for the use of buses to transport students as no school came to Lobatse in open trucks like in the past.

In terms of the games, she said the level of competition has also improved significantly because no school dominated particular sporting codes and every one who came to the finals was very competitive and deserved to be there.The schools competed in 13 codes at both junior and senior schools category. The northern zone emerged overall champions after amassing a total of 80 medals: 29 gold, 22 silver and 29 bronze. 

South and north central zones came second and third with 64 and 56 medals respectively while the South Central region was last with 46 medals. The sponsors of this year's games included Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL) who sponsored football to the tune of one million pula through their COPA Coca-Cola brand.  JB Sports sponsored volleyball to the tune of P170, 000, while Beemark sponsored softball with a sum of P31, 600. Other sponsors were  All Sports who sponsored boxing and netball, with Clover Botswana offering refreshments.
