TAFIC target ECCO goalkeeper

TAFIC spokesperson, Thomas Chabalala said the technical department would recommend signings for the new season.

Although he could not comment on Onkutlule, he confirmed that TAFIC are looking for a goalkeeper.

'What I know is that we are looking for a goalkeeper through the technical team. It is the technical team, which informs us of the players they want. The transfer window is on and we are looking for players to sign and critically, we need a goalkeeper,' Chabalala said. ECCO City Greens' public relations officer, Unabatsho Mathalaza said there was nothing official as far as negotiations were concerned.  'I will treat the whole thing as a rumour because TAFIC is yet to approach us,' Mathalaza said. He said Onkutlule 'remains our player until a process that could result in his change of status is started and concluded'.

Onkutule who has been with ECCO since 2002, said TAFIC had made the overtures to him.

'TAFIC approached me even though they have not spoken to my team. We have not yet finalised our discussions,' he said.

Onkutlule has been called up for the national team in the past although he remains uncapped.
