We're still BDP, vow 7 SES councillors

Of the eight BDP councillors in the constituency, Boiki Gaseitsiwe of Ramotswa Central has also joined the BMD. In a letter to the media, the remaining seven BDP councillors said they remain committed and loyal BDP members.

They have sworn to 'continue to promote and uphold the programmes and policies of this...party, in this constituency in particular and Botswana at large.

BDP remains vibrant and present within this constituency and will not be affected in anyway by Motlhale and a few that have defected with him,' reads the letter.

The letter is signed by councillors Douglas Kereng, Reuben Botlhole, Daniel Molefi, Agnes Khubile, Keakile and two others.

Meanwhile, Mmathubudikwane councillor in Kgatleng East, Jeremiah Mosinyi has announced his defection from the ruling BDP to BMD.

Like others before him, the councillor says he is leaving the BDP because the party leadership is divisive and failing to address the crisis in the political organisation.

Mosinyi becomes the fourth BDP councillor in the Kgatleng District Council to defect to the BMD after three others left at a BMD rally held in Mochudi a few weeks back.

'As we speak I am busy recruiting and registering BDP people to the BMD,' said Mosinyi.
