Batswana get Chinese scholarships

Amongst these students will be two who will pursue doctoral programmes in Curriculum and Teaching Methodology and Telecommunication and information system, five will pursue bachelors degree, 20 will be doing their masters programmes and one will be admitted as a senior scholar.

Mogomotsi Rammatla has been admitted as a Phd scholar studying for Curriculum and Teaching methodology at Huazhong normal university while Ibo Mooketsi Ngebani will study for his Phd in telecommunication and information system at Zhejiang University. Ben Baaitse Garegope is admitted as a senior scholar in Social Medicine and Health management at the Huazhong University of science and Technology. Of the 28 students, 11 are females and 17 are males.

Most of the students will be pursuing programmes that are considered scarce skills such as the sciences and information technology (IT). Some of the programmes that students had been admitted to are courses such as biological chemistry, clinical stomatology, computer science, urban construction, agricultural environment, international finance, forensic medicine, textiles science. There are however others who will study regular courses like law, international relations, public relations, business administration and English.

According to a press release from the Chinese Embassy in Gaborone, all the students who had applied are requested to visit the Chinese Embassy from August 2 to August 6 to collect their admission letters.
