BSA returns Ipelegeng funds

BSA spokesperson, Kabelo Kwape said the association has refunded the money collected in the fundraising project in 2007. Each club contributed P1,000 for the prize money at the end of the season. However, some clubs claim they have not received the refund.

'We are wondering what has happened to our money as there is no communication on the subject,' said Gatalamotho manager, Steve Baatshwana.

But Kwape dismissed claims by clubs that say they have not received the refund. 'As far as I know, all the teams have been paid.

If by chance there are those who have not been paid, then they can channel their queries through the general manager,' he explained. He said the complaining clubs should prove that they paid the P1,000 in order to be re-funded. He explained that the reimbursement process was delayed after a new committee came into office.

He said members of the new officials took time to familiarise themselves with office procedures, hence the delay. The Ipelegeng initiative was launched in 2007 after the BSA failed to secure a sponsor for the league. Under the arrangement, the BSA was supposed to raise funds in order to augment the clubs' efforts.  But the fundraising venture hit a wall and it was agreed that the money contributed by clubs should be refunded.
