Molosi gets more Hollywood roles

According to Molosi, Given is a New Zealand/US thriller in which he plays a black British railroad worker working in New Zealand. The film revolves around the mystery of a robbery that Molosi's character helps solve without the character knowing it.  The film has already premiered at the prestigious Queens International Film Festival in New York and it is set to be released later this year.

'I am always very physical on stage but it was the first time that I had   to be so physical in a film. We shot most of my scenes on the roof of a building in Massachusetts, and it was snowing the whole time so doing my own stunts was definitely hard. I slipped a lot on ice and took a while to be able to walk in the heavy boots,' Molosi says about the film.

He further says that he did not struggle to acquire a British accent since he once lived in a London drama school where he had to do all the plays in the Received Pronunciation, which is a posh British accent.

The actor also schooled in one of Botswana's leading English medium school, Maruapula where he interacted with British English speakers.

In One Triumph, Molosi plays a Nigerian acting student, Donny Okowo in the USA. The actor says that he related better to that role because when the film was being shot, he was also an African acting student based in the USA.

'It was refreshing to do an African character for once but I still had to be careful not to make a caricature of the character. I had to do a Nigerian accent in a believable way,' says the actor adding that he had to make sure that the accent had to be there but not to distract him from the emotions of the character.Unfortunately for the fans of the 24-year-old, it might take them time before they are able to see Molosi's film works, as he is not sure that they will be released for global audiences.

He says that he hopes to be able to convince some local cinemas to show his works later in the year when he visits Botswana after his international tours. The actor says that although he prides himself in having acquired Hollywood roles, he believes that it is just because of luck and the fact that he is always at the right place at the right time. He is also adamant that hard work helps him boost his portfolio. He concedes that getting an acting role in Hollywood is not an easy thing and that there are some filmmakers who ask actors for sexual favours before casting them.

'I have encountered such situations a number of times but I always resist because I trust my talent and always uphold my values,' says the actor who says that he would rather quit acting and find another job than allow himself to be used. One of the actor's dreams is to act in a local film because he wants Batswana to be able to witness his talent.

'I am honestly constantly trying to audition for things in my home country but I always get cast and then get dropped later. It has happened to me twice so I have realised that our industry is in it's nascent stages but I hope that I will get an act in Setswana, for Batswana when the time is right,' says the actor. Molosi who previously filmed a war-themed film alongside Hollywood star, Matt Damon, will soon leave for France for an acting job.
