BMC falter as Notwane revival Continues

Although BMC coach, Mike Sithole has vowed to get his side out of the relegation zone, games are running out as the Lobatse side has played 15 games and collected only seven points.

Playing at home, many had expected Ezinkomo to register a win more so against a team they easily dispatched in the past. But it was Notwane who chalked up a third successive win which sees the Gaborone side ease into eighth place after a poor start to the campaign.

Sithole's side drew first blood in the fifth minute when Kenanao Kgetholetsile fired past the inexperienced Notwane goalkeeper, Moabi Tshephe. The former Prisons XI and Extension Gunners' forward showed hunger and was back in the 24th minute floating a neat cross into the box for Motsholetsi Sikele who fluffed the opportunity.

But within three minutes, Pako Moloi who had wasted a chance earlier made amends after catching the BMC defence off guard and took advantage of Cosmos Lombala's suspect goalkeeping to bring the two teams level.

Alex Matshameko, a reliable defender for the Lobatse team over the years, had an erratic afternoon and struggled to contain Langson Sichola. It was his mistake that saw Notwane go ahead in the 28th minute through Sichola.  Kgetholetsile scored from a corner, heading the ball into the net to bring his team back into contention. Derick Ntumbayi who had a disappointing afternoon made a brave run on the right with three minutes left before the break and Tumisang Mothibapudi brought down the former Mochudi Centre Chiefs, striker. Referee Israel Malepa did not hesitate to point to the spot.

Kgetholetsile stepped forward to clinically covert from the penalty spot though he earned an unnecessary yellow card for time wasting, pretending to find the right spot for the ball. BMC went for break leading 3-2.

From the break, Notwane came back rejuvenated. With Patrick Mathaba completely out of sorts, Toronto's young boys took full advantage to 'dismantle' the BMC midfield.

BMC's defensive problems came to the fore in the 53rd minute when an attempted offside trap failed, leaving Kgaodi 'Deco' Odirile free to score his team's equaliser. With only 10 minutes to full time, Notwane caught the BMC defence on the counter and Odirile used the opportunity to complete his brace and wrap up the three points for Toronto.
