G4 promises to tell no lies in 2010

The 23-year-old, who was set to release his album in September last year, said part of his resolutions this year include delivering to his fans effectively.

He even promises to organise thrilling stage performances just after his appearance on local Botwana Television (Btv) talent show Mokaragana, which is yet to be organised.

The self-proclaimed Botswana's best RnB maestro said that he couldn't release the album last year as he felt that there weren't enough songs in the album.

'At the time there were only five songs in the album and I felt selling it that way would be tantamount to ripping Batswana off of their hard earned cash,' he said.

G4 said the other reason he delayed its release is because initially the album had no Setswana track and after consultation with fans he realised that he had to make a Setswana RnB song titled Ke Tsamaile Le Mmata. In this song that features a local motswako star known as J.J, G4 talks about the trials and tribulations him and J.J encountered to become the reputable artists they are today.

Other interesting tracks in the album are I Know, featuring Zory Boy, and I Believe In Love. I Know is a unique blend of slow RnB and Hip Hop in which G4 basically talks of his mistrust in women. He sings of how he knows that they cheat and that they are usually there for money and once the money disappears they vanish into thin air.

On the contrary, G4 states that he believes that such a thing as love exists in his solo track I Believe In Love. G4 in his defence says that not all women are gold-diggers and that there are some out there who are good although they are rare gems.

G4 says his album is currently being packaged at Dargie Studios who have promised that his discs will be copy proof. He said nowadays artists need to employ such measures regardless of the costs as in the end they are the ones who benefit.

The eight-track album was produced, recorded, arranged and mixed at Nice Cut Studios and DMR Studios in Gaborone.

Its executive producers are Benjamin Black and Nice Cut and its co-executive producer is the man himself G4. The album sleeve was designed by J.J Graphics and Animations.
