Husband stabs wife to death

Sources said the suspect stabbed the deceased several times in the chest and head. It is understood that the woman was stabbed while attempting to protect her baby from the husband who wanted to harm it.

The woman had alerted neighbours about the attack, yelling that her husband was killing her, a police source said. Tlokweng Police Station commander, superintendent Lebang Maniki said the suspect is still at large. It is alleged that the woman had told the suspect that she wanted to visit her father who was hospitalised in a South African hospital.

The woman had told her mother-in-law about her intention to go to South Africa. The mother-in- law promised to look for a car to take her to the South African border.

'After her mother-in-law had left, the husband entered the house and attempted to stab the baby but the woman, who was about to take a shower, tried to stop him from stabbing the baby with a knife but the man turned the knife on her and stabbed her to death,' said a source.

The source said that the baby is in critical condition at Princess Marina Hospital. 'It was a horrible sight. There was blood all over,' said the source.
